The technical and vocational education schools in Bahrain have resumed their classes where students are also taking practical sessions, said a top Education Ministry official.
Technical and Vocational Education director Muhammad Al-Siddiqi said these in-person classes conform to Bahrain’s Covid-19 protocols.
In technical schools the presence of students in workshops and laboratories are inevitable, as they need to gain practical experience.
“This is to increase understanding of students in their trade, and done under the direct supervision of specialised teachers,” he added.
He said the technical and vocational education schools are well prepared to receive students in a safe and healthy environment, besides schools are also broadcasting 800 online classes per week. For this, the department of Technical and Vocational Education has also given the necessary training to teachers, he said.
“So that the teaching and learning of our students are not affected.”
He also revealed that the authority had shortened the curriculum to focus on most important areas and ensure effective utilisation of available resources.
