Riffa held by Sitra in BFA Cup

Riffa was held to a 1-1 draw against Sitra last night in a Group C match in the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Cup. Mahdi Abduljabbar found the net for Riffa, while Sitra were able to claim a share of the points after scoring from the penalty spot. Yesterday’s other fixture between Al Tadhamun and Al Malkiya was postponed.
Cup action continues on Friday with four matches taking place in different venues. In Group A, Bahrain Club faces Al Ettihad while Al Shabab go against East Riffa. In Group D, Budaiya and Busaiteen lock horns while Al Najma and Galali face off. All matches are scheduled for 6pm kick-offs. Another four games are then scheduled for Saturday. The BFA Cup features four groups in this current stage, at the end of which the top team from each move on to the semi-finals.
