Ahlia University to hold forum on gender equality and opportunities

The Ahlia University will organise the 4th Equal Opportunities Conference starting tomorrow until Thursday, in co-operation with the London-based Brunel University.
Held under the patronage of Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, the event will attract academics, researchers, students and those interested in gender equality from the public and private sectors.
The conference will tackle important and vital topics in the fields of health, education, business and law, with emphasis on gender balance programmes based on the importance of effective and real participation of women in enhancing the progress of the nation, achieving an optimal upbringing of future generations, and advancing the Bahraini family and society.
It will highlight the major role played by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) under the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and SCW president, in advancing Bahraini women.
Local, Arab and regional women leaders will be keynote speakers during the conference.
Other speakers include United Nation’s Peace Ambassador for Children and Youth, leading philanthropist, patron of the Arab culture and community and head of the Arab Women’s Organisation, HRH Princess Doaa M Ezzat who will focus on “Education Challenges during COVID 19”, and senior infectious disease consultant at the Ministry of Health, and the recipient of the ‘Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Doctor’, Dr Jameela Al Salman, whose paper will focus on “COVID 19, Gender Equality and Health.”
