A number of ministers today took the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine, as part of their keenness to support the national efforts aimed at confronting the pandemic and limiting its spread.

The ministers expressed their deep appreciation for Team Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, for the proactive efforts they have been taking before the detection of the first Covid-19 case in the Kingdom.

They stressed that Team Bahrain’s efforts have played a pivotal role in ensuring the kingdom’s success in addressing the pandemic, highlighting the global acclaim of Bahrain’s efforts in fighting the virus.

On November 3, Bahrain’s Health Ministry announced that the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) had authorised the emergency use of the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine among frontline healthcare workers, who are in direct contact with active Covid-19 cases.

Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh said that use of the vaccine was in full compliance with the kingdom’s regulations and laws which allow for exceptional licensing in emergency cases, adding that the results of studies of the first and second phases of clinical trials proved that the vaccine was safe and effective.
