WHO Director-General lauds HRH Prince Khalifa’s commitment to health for all

Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has condoled with Bahrain over the passing of an “outstanding leader and advocate for HealthForAll.”
“Very sad to hear about the passing of Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa,” he posted on his Twitter account.
“I had the honour of meeting HRH in person. He was an outstanding leader & advocate for #HealthForAll. My thoughts are with his family, government & the people of Bahrain.”
He added in Arabic that “last year during the 72nd session of the World Health Assembly, I presented His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Director of Health Award at the World Health Organization, in recognition of his distinguished political leadership in promoting health for all. We will never forget this legacy.”
