DNA test report of those born outside the Kingdom of Bahrain will now have to be submitted when applying for passport.
This came after Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa issued the decree regarding passports.
According to the decision, the Immigration and Passports Department will now require parents or guardians to attach the DNA test report for those born outside Bahrain along with other required documents when requesting the issuance or replacement of passport.
The department may request the applicant to attach the age determination test, any laboratory tests, or any other examinations, and only medical reports issued by the competent and accredited government agencies in the Kingdom are considered.
