Bahrain committed to bolstering relations with India

The Kingdom of Bahrain is committed to bolstering relations with India to increase investment opportunities between the two countries. This was emphasized by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as he met today India’s External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at Riffa Palace, on the sidelines of the Minister’s visit to the Kingdom. During the meeting, Dr Jaishankar conveyed the condolences of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman on the passing of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
HRH Prince Salman stressed the strength of ties between Bahrain and India, noting that bilateral cooperation continues to accelerate across various sectors.
He said that the exchange of visits bolsters joint cooperation, which in turn advances further development and prosperity for both countries and their people.
In this regard, HRH Prince Salman welcomed the ongoing cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and India in combatting COVID-19. They also reviewed bilateral partnerships and methods to reinforce them.
HRH Prince Salman lauded the role played by the Indian community within Bahrain, and their efforts contributing towards the Kingdom’s economic development. For his part, Dr Jaishankar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and highlighted HRHs’ ongoing support towards ever-expanding bilateral ties. Present in the meeting were Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
