Bahrain and Israel sign MoU in tourism

Bahrain Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani underlined that the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain is considered among the most active fields, thanks to the strong foundation laid by the government.
The Minister said that opening up tourism with Israel would contribute to further stimulate this sector.
Al Zayani’s remarks came after Bahrain signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel in the tourism sector in the presence of Israeli Tourism Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen.
On this occasion, Al Zayani confirmed that the Kingdom is exerting enormous efforts in order to raise its tourism sector level and equip it with attracting facilities that cement the extraordinary position the country’s tourism is occupying.
He stated that opening tourism with Israel following the signing of the peace agreement would have a positive impact on this important area for both states.
For her part, Minister Farkash-Hacohen praised the exceptional reputation of Bahrain’s tourism sector, underscoring that cooperating in this field with the Kingdom will pave the way for the creation of more opportunities in the coming period.
Al Zayani also met with Israeli Regional Cooperation Minister Ofir Akunis. During the meeting, aspects of joint cooperation in trade, investment and tourism between the two countries were discussed and identified opportunities in these important sectors.
They also discussed a number of issues of common interest that serve the development of economic relations and open the way for the private sector of both countries to establish joint projects.
