Manhunt launched for killer driver

A man-hunt has been launched by police to nab the driver of a car that killed a toddler and fled the scene.

Two-year-old Jordanian Cedra Haitharn Salem was killed in a hit-and-run that occurred in the Northern Governorate on Tuesday night.

Interior Ministry had confirmed the incident on their Twitter page.

Sources told to DT News that the accident occurred near Roundabout 13 in Hamad Town, close to Imam Ali Mosque, before the driver fled the spot.

According to the sources, the child was taken to a nearby health centre with her parents by a passerby and she was declared dead after succumbing to her injuries.

Police soon reached the scene and initiated an investigation. A manhunt has been launched to identify the culprit.

An eyewitness had noted down the vehicle’s registration number and handed it over to the cops, sources said.

The parents couldn’t be reached for a comment.
