Two SMC nurses share top award

Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) Nurse Wahiba Al Helou and ICU Acting Nursing Supervisor Ridha Hammam have won the 2020 Nurse of the Year Award. The GCC Health Council has launched the prize for the first time in the region in an initiative paying tribute marking the year of nursing. Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh congratulated medical personnel on the honourable achievement, which reflects Bahraini health cadres’ standing.
She paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his royal care for the health sector, hailing the constant praise of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for all medical and nursing teams. The minister received the two prizewinners in presence of senior officials and congratulated them on the award, extending thanks to GCC Health Council Director-General Suleiman Al Dakheel.
