Bahrain hit by first wave of cold weather

The first wave of cold weather was felt in some parts of Bahrain last night following occasional light rain.

On Saturday, the official Bahrain weather website had said that starting from yesterday evening the Kingdom was to experience the first burst of cool air, accompanied by active northern winds and preceded by varying rains starting from the morning until evening.

It indicated that the northern winds will continue bringing low temperatures for several days and the weather will be especially cold during the evening.

Yesterday, the Kingdom witnessed rainfalls of varying quantities in a number of regions, as cumulus clouds gathered at sea in the eastern and northern regions. There were also some sporadic rain falling in the north and northeast of the country.
The Meteorological Directorate had also forecast that the weather yesterday was to be cloudy with a chance of scattered rain showers at times that may become thundery later, and was to turn into partly cloudy at a later time, while the winds were southerly in general from 12 to 17 knots with gusts that may reach 35 knots and then turn into northwest from 20 to 25 knots at evening.

The Meteorological Directorate forecasts cool weather today, with some clouds and rising sand in places.

Wind: Mainly northwesterly, 13 to 18 knots, reaching 22 to 27 knots at times.

Warning: Strong winds and rough seas.

Temperatures: Maximum 23 ºC and minimum 16 ºC

Humidity: Maximum 80% and minimum 30%

Sea waves: 1 to 3 feet inshore, 3 to 6 feet offshore

Tides at Mina Salman: High at 9:23 am and 10:30 pm; low at 4:02 pm and 4:31 am
