Stage set for National Day Endurance championship

The National Day Endurance championship will be held on Thursday and Friday, under the patronage of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) will organise the Batelco-sponsored championship at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.

BREEF Chairman Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa stressed commitment to implement the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to ensure the success of the annual event.

He commended HH Shaikh Nasser’s support to the championship, which will be held as part of festivities celebrating Bahrain’s national days.

 Two qualifying races covering 40 kilometres and 80 kilometres respectively, will be held on Thursday, in addition to a 100-kilometre-long  international race.

 HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, also BREEF Honorary Chairman, also gave directives to organise a new “Al-Anjal” race, which covers the distance of 20 kilometres on the same day.

An international 120-kilometre-long race will be held on Friday, bringing together many stables and riders who will compete in the championship, which will be aired live on Bahrain TV, in coordination with the Ministry of Information Affairs.
