Youth core of media policy: Minister

Information, Shura and Representatives Councils’ Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi said that caring for Bahraini youth and developing their creative potentials were the core of the media policy, being among the priorities of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project.

Felicitating the sponsors and participants in the “Live 2” contest, organised by the University of Bahrain (UoB)’s College of Arts under the patronage of the Information Affairs Ministry at the Shaikh Abdulaziz Hall yesterday, the Minister voiced pride in the creative and promising national youth competencies in the fields of radio presentation, press article writing and new media.

During the ceremony, attended by UoB President Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi, Al Hammadi highlighted the Ministry’s keenness on supporting more distinguished student functions and competitions, in partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), within the framework of the cooperation with UoB.

He stressed that the reliance of the Bahraini media on youth reflects confidence in them and their outstanding skills. The Minister noted that doors remained always open for talented and competent Bahrainis to take part effectively in presenting radio and television programmes and developing the media message and content.

The UoB President expressed appreciation to the Minister for visiting UoB and patronising the contest aiming to discover youth media talents. The Minister honoured the contesters and sponsors, and presented winners with prizes.
