Sewerage in Capital Governorate inspected

Sanitary Engineering Operation and Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Eng. Nazha Abu Hindi yesterday inspected the maintenance of the sewerage and storm water drainage networks located in the vicinity of the Hussaini rituals that are to take place along Imam Al Hussain Avenue in the Capital Governorate.

Abu Hindi stated that the Ministry had completed all preparations for Ashura season. “The Sanitary Engineering Operation and Maintenance Directorate has cleaned sewerage networks along Imam Al Hussain Avenue using high pressure tanks,” he said. “It has also carried out precautionary maintenance to the pumping stations in the area, in addition to cleaning and maintaining storm water drains and storm water pumping stations.”

“The Ministry seeks to ensure a healthy and safe environment to citizens and residents attending the Ashura rituals in the area,” he added.

Abu Hindi urged the citizens and residents of the Governorate to keep sewerage and storm water drainage networks clean. He also instructed to abstain from practices that may result in blockages in the networks such as dumping oil and cigarettes.

Citizens and residents have been asked to contact the sanitary engineering emergency hotline number 80001810, which operates 24/7, or visit the eGovernment portal www.bahrain.bh(sanitary complaints section) to report any problem in the network.
