Over 12,000 people have so far registered to be vaccinated in a solid show of support for Bahrain’s national comprehensive COVID-19 response.

The Cabinet during yesterday’s weekly meeting held remotely, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, praised the public response and urged all citizens and residents to submit themselves to vaccination.

By doing so, they can protect themselves and the community against the virus, the Cabinet explained. Citizens and residents can register online by visiting the website: https://healthalert. gov.bh for the free vaccine.

The Cabinet also commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s announcement of the National Vaccination Campaign’s launch with HM the King receiving the vaccination.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister reiterated the importance of continuing to follow and observe all COVID-19 precautionary measures.

He pointed out that although infection rates are lower than earlier, the virus is still present and poses a risk to the community, therefore complacency must be avoided in order to protect the community.

In this context, the Cabinet reviewed the latest developments on the new strain of the COVID-19 virus.

Available medical and scientific reports indicate that this strain responds to current vaccines, and the Cabinet reiterated the importance of closely monitoring developments related to this new strain and take necessary measures.

The Cabinet extended congratulations to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on HM the King’s Royal Order to create the ‘Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit’, which reflects Royal appreciation of HRH’s efforts and pride in the efforts of the Kingdom’s medical professionals.
