IMMAF Best Host Nation Award international recognition for Bahrain

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and Bahrain Olympic Committee President has received at his office, in Al Wadhi Palace, HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council. 

The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Mohammed Hassan Al Nisf and Mohammed Shahid, HH's Advisor. 

At the beginning of the meeting, HH Shaikh Khalid welcomed the attendees and expressed congratulations on honouring Bahrain with the Best Host Nation Award by the IMMAF for the year 2019. 

He stated that this didn't come out of a vacuum, highlighting the support of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, without which this accomplishment wouldn't have been possible. 

He also highlighted the exceptional efforts being exerted by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa as a key contributor for this achievement. 

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: “We laid out our vision to sponsor and support the sport of mixed martial arts, and we set the main goal to strengthen its presence regionally and internationally, as our efforts were successful in placing the Kingdom of Bahrain represented by the national team of mixed martial arts at the top of the general ranking in the classification which is accredited by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) for the years 2019 and 2020. 

This came after the honourable successes made by Bahrain's national team. 

Receiving the Best Host Nation Award following the successful organisation to BRAVE Combat Week is an international recognition of the role being played by the Kingdom in spreading this sport," 

Moreover, HH Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council under the leadership of HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa in implementing the strategies that aim to develop the federations and association under its umbrella. 

Furthermore, the meeting discussed several topics including the resumption of sports activities of the federations involved in combat sports as well as the preparation of the national teams. 

From his side, HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa praised the efforts of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa towards sponsoring and supporting the combat sports.
