The virus does not rest, and so the Kingdom of Bahrain is continuing and intensifying mass vaccination efforts against the COVID-19 to ensure that they are implemented consistently for the safety of all.

The vaccine is now available to citizens and foreign residents at 27 health centres across the Kingdom. The Health Ministry said that the vaccination walk-in service at designated residential health centres has been suspended due to a high turnout of would-be recipients.

Vaccination requires prior appointments that can be booked online via the website: healthalert.gov. bh, the ministry added. The online portal now enables those registering to select their preferred health centre and the type of vaccine they wish to receive.

The vaccination is available free of charge to all citizens and foreign residents of the age of 18 years and above. Bahrain aims to vaccinate a total of 1.5 million residents; around 712,000 of them are Bahrainis and 679,000 expatriates.

It aims at vaccinating 5,000 people per day, to be maximised to 10,000. Globally, the virus has infected more than 74 million people and killed more than 1.6 million. More than 41.9 million people have recovered from the disease.
