The government of Bahrain will support all its agencies in expediting their digital transformation efforts amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, said Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Mohammed was replying to a parliamentary question by MP Ibrahim Al-Nafiei.

Shaikh Mohammed told Al Nafiei that all agencies should be ready to perform their transactions and render their services digitally.

The government, His Highness said, is currently re-engineering and developing 120 of its services offered digitally.

“We will continue to implement procedures and provide services at the same pace to accelerate and strengthen digital transformation strategy as we navigate through the pandemic,” the Deputy PM said.

Digital transformation is the process of using digital technologies to create new — or modify existing — business processes, culture, and customer experiences to meet changing business and market requirements.

It transcends traditional roles like sales, marketing, and customer service.

Shaikh Mohammed assured that all government services meet the latest international practices.

“This helps us to provide speedy services and improve the performance of the government by complying with the latest international norms in digital transformation.”
