‘Hindi Diwas’ celebrated at the New Horizon School

The staff and students of the New Horizon School celebrated “Hindi Diwas” or Hindi Day yesterday with the view of instilling in the students a patriotic spirit.
Hindi Department head Sindhu Mohanlal outlined the importance of Hindi as the official language of India.
A variety of entertainment programmes like skits, qawali, songs and dances were conducted in Hindi to make the day a memorable one.
The programmes marked the importance and the unifying quality of Hindi which is the most widely spoken language in India and the third commonly spoken language in the world.
Hindi Recitation and Hindi Handwriting Competitions were conducted with the prelims held during the last week of December and the finals held during the first week of this month.
