The Ministry of Health today announced the shipment of vaccines manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTec, scheduled to arrive in the Kingdom this month, will not arrive on the initially agreed date, due to production and supply delay on the manufacturer’s side.
The ministry stressed that the delay in Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine shipments will not affect citizens and residents receiving the second dose of the vaccine over the upcoming period, according to currently scheduled dates.
The ministry noted that the company has informed countries who have ordered their vaccine that it has expanded its production and manufacturing of vaccines in order to cover global demands, provided that the delivery of shipments will take place at a later stage.
The ministry highlighted that the Kingdom of Bahrain was one of the first countries globally to order vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, in line with comprehensive national efforts to combat COVID-19.
