People of Bahrain have been warned against receiving messages from scammers outside Bahrain using different telephone numbers without the knowledge of the actual owners of these numbers.
The scammers ask questions, claiming that they are representatives from the Bahrain Centre for Studies and Research, said Anti-cyber Crime Directorate of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security.
They thus collect personal information to be used for fraud purposes.
The Directorate urged the public not to answer these questions and report any complaint, inquiry, or comment through the hotline 992 that is operational round the clock.
