Students from government schools benefit from an educational process that blends a comprehensive theoretical curriculum with practical field applications.

It enhances comprehension, academic competencies, personal skills, educational, national and humanitarian values.

In an example of this approach, the Department of Social Materials at Omar Bin Abdulaziz Primary School for Boys set up the “Young Tourist Guide” project.

The students make short films of the most important tourist and archaeological areas in the Kingdom of Bahrain, during which they talk in their own style and assumed the role of tour guides.

The project was implemented in several phases. It held an educational workshop on tourism guidance provided by Professor Ahmed Ali, the teacher of social materials at the school, followed by the stage of selecting sites, gathering information, and photography.

The department’s teachers then participated in publishing the completed works through the educational portal and the Times platform to generate interest among students.

And through the Microsoft Forum program, the students presented their opinions and impressions about the produced films, and according to the questionnaire and the questions submitted to them.

The majority of them showed their desire to play the same role because of their admiration for the unique experience provided by their colleagues.

This project comes in support of the efforts of the Ministry of Education in promoting citizenship and human rights by strengthening the students’ relationship with the landmarks of their homeland, in order to enhance their belonging.
