HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives the CEO of G42

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi based Group 42, Dr Peng Xiao, at Riffa Palace.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness underscored the importance of doubling efforts to combat COVID-19 and further international cooperation to successfully eradicate the virus. 

His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s comprehensive COVID-19 response to safeguard the health of the Kingdom’s community.

On this note, His Royal Highness extended his gratitude for the efforts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) combating COVID-19, praising the success of the clinical trials. His Royal Highness added that the Kingdom’s cooperation with the UAE and the People's Republic of China in the clinical trials have successfully led to the approval of a vaccine – a great humanitarian step.

His Royal Highness went on to commend the Kingdom’s cooperation with the UAE, noting the depth of the bilateral relationship between the two countries across various fields.

His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to further strengthen precautionary measures through a united national response, emphasising the importance vaccinations have on safeguarding an individual, their family and their community. 

For his part, Dr Peng Xiao expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, praising His Royal Highness for his unwavering commitment to combat COVID-19.

The Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, was also in attendance for the meeting.
