Raya highway improvement, Oracle development for Bapco, hotel rooms for Gulf Air staff in Delhi

The bids of the first phase of the Raya Highway Revamp Project in Muharraq have been opened by the Tender Board, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning announced, adding that the submitted bids will be evaluated later and the project will be awarded to the contractor with the lowest bid.

The Ministry indicated that the three-phase project will contribute to easing the traffic movement and ensuring quick access to the surrounding areas, adding that the first phase includes the revamp of 1.2 km of the highway after its intersection with the Arad Highway at Avenue 13, and opening its intersection with Avenue 38 with about 140 metres.

The project will turn the highway into a two-lane one in each direction, for a length of six kilometres, from the entrance of Galali Park near the intersection of Al Hidd highway to the avenue linking it with the North West Busaiteen area.

It will also redesign the existing intersections by installing nine traffic lights, provide pedestrian sidewalks, establish a rainwater sewage network, lighting and traffic signs in addition to pedestrian barriers to achieve traffic safety, and ground channels for use by services entities to avoid future asphalt cuts.

A representative of the fifth and sixth constituencies at the Muharraq Municipal Council, Salah Bu Hazza, and Fadhel Al-Oud, respectively extended thanks to the Works Ministry for the project which will serve the villages of Al-Dair, Samaheej and Galali, as well as road users, expressing hope that all stages of the project will be completed quickly.

Umm Al Hassam-Zinj walkway

The committee also opened another tender by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning for constructing Umm Al Hassam-Zinj walkway.

The tender attracted 15 bids, ranging between BD134,387.400 and BD300,806.970.

Saraya Contractors was the lowest bidder.

Improving Sijilat

Tender inviting bids by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism for improving the electronic portal for the Sijilat system attracted six parties.

BD30,450 quoted by Al-Amthal for Consultancy and Software emerged as the lowest.

The board further opened four tenders by the Electricity and Water Authority.

The first was for the renewal of the current chemical store, and the supply and installation of a new prefabricated chemical store in the Hawar production station on Hawar Island.

The tender received three bids.

EWA’s second tender was for renting heavy vehicles for four years and received 11 bids.

A tender to carry out maintenance work and periodic checks of mobile generators received three bids.

EWA’s fourth tender for updating and replacing protection devices and voltage regulators of four 11/11,000-volt transformers in the petrochemical station attracted six bids.

The committee then opened a tender by the Central Stores Department of the Electricity and Water Authority for purchasing distributed thermal sensor panel.

The tender received two bids.

Hotel rooms for Gulf Air in New Delhi

In the aviation sector, the committee opened two tenders by Gulf Air.

The first was for providing cargo and mail handling services at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, for which received two bids.

The second tender was for renting a hotel to accommodate the Gulf Air staff during their stopover in Delhi, India, for three years.

Unison Hotels Private Limited, which quoted INR3,920 was the sole bidder.

Oracle development for Bapco

Finally, the committee opened a tender offering a three-year contract in the oil and gas sector for the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) for Oracle application development services.

The work attracted 11 bids ranging between USD27,927 and USD6,218,210.250.

Price water house Coopers was the lowest bidder.

Tech Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd, and Etisalcom Bahrain Company are some of the other bidders.

Representatives of the administering parties and the companies participating in the tenders attended the bid opening process.

All bids are subject to technical and financial evaluation, and the best bid will be awarded depending on its conditions and lowest price.
