Alwane environmental awareness campaign to involve 1,000 women

Alwane Bahrain Society announced plans to launch a community campaign to highlight the role of Bahraini women in preserving the environment and raise awareness on environmental issues.
The campaign aims at encouraging women to make environmentally friendly purchases, minimise household waste and implant an environment-friendly culture among children.
The society will organise three awareness workshops in cooperation with environmental specialists, a two-day exhibition in a commercial complex, and a social media campaign to create two awareness videos and distribute leaflets in public places and commercial complexes.
The campaign will also include a clean-up campaign of coasts in Bahrain.
Society chairman Ammar Awachi, also an economist, said the campaign also focuses on clean energy projects, waste recycling, and other project women could launch.
