SCE chief Dr Daina attends GPCA conference
Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) Chief Executive Dr. Mohamed Mubarak Bin Daina has delivered a keynote address on the role of government in environmental legislation from the GCC level to national bodies at the GPCA inaugural Responsible Care Conference in Dubai, UAE held from October 11 to 13.
Chemical industry leaders have convened at the Conference held with a focus on sustainability, process safety and product stewardship.
The talk included information on the GCC’s environment focus areas and process, as well the SCE’s implementation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) to achieve meaningful sustainable development. The presentation concluded by demonstrating how the GCC countries work together to ensure industrial development interests compliment the pursuit of regional and international environmental objectives.
Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s global environmental, health, safety and security initiative. For almost six years, the Responsible Care Committee has helped GPCA member companies enhance their performance and reputation, discover new business opportunities, and improve the health and safety of their employees and communities and the environment as a whole. This annual conference enables industry leaders to learn from their peers and other experts about strategies to improve their companies’ environmental, health, safety and security performance and expand business opportunities.
