Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi has revealed that the 14 schools subject to the reviews of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) during the first term of this academic year, have been awarded category “A”, lauding the efforts of those schools and their teaching staff to put in place successful practices aimed at delivering quality education for students.
He indicated that the Education Ministry’s efforts have contributed to enhancing the performance of schools, especially the inadequate ones in which more than 5,400 students improved their academic performance, thus becoming effective schools, particularly in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He added that the Ministry had harnessed all its potentials to provide quality education to all students, including those with special needs, noting that during the exceptional circumstances, school leaderships have contacted students and prepared them to learn through the educational portal.
The teachers have always been trained on e-learning, as well as on synchronous and asynchronous online learning, in addition to ways to follow up on the progress of the students’ acquired skills, knowledge, academic achievements and personal development, he said.
Dr Al-Nuaimi highlighted the Education Ministry’s efforts to improve the quality of education during the current circumstances, while protecting the students’ psychological and physical safety, through providing them the necessary psychological and social care and communicating with their parents, which boosted their psychological security and self-confidence.
He expressed pride in Bahrain’s educational competencies for their keenness to ensure the continuity of education, and launch initiatives to create an adequate learning environment for the students.
