Bahrain participates in International Human Fraternity Virtual Summit

The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence participated in the International Human Fraternity Virtual Summit held under the patronage of the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

Centre trustees board chairman Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa represented Bahrain.

In his inaugural speech, Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the leaders of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE have drawn up the most wonderful examples of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He noted that their historical efforts bear witness to the greatest characteristic of "benevolence for the other". He pointed out contributions of the Gulf countries to resolving crises and tribulations afflicting humanity, activation of the principle of brotherhood and human unity.

Shaikh Khalid said the Kingdom of Bahrain, like the UAE, has set its sights on the human concern. He added the attitudes have testified over the years to the role of the leaders in inculcating the values of tolerance and coexistence as a reality between various components of the community through wise and inherited policies that accord paramount consideration to human dignity and advancement. He pointed out that this is evident in the endeavours of states and the consensus of societies in preserving rights and gains and combating all forms of racism, extremism and other things that fall under "inhumanity."

Shaikh Khaled mentioned that the countries of the region have provided great services and sacrifices to all segments of the society, in all health, social and economic fields, which reflected good intentions and purity of spirit towards others, out of the leaders’ belief that the destiny of humanity is based on tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of the other.

It is noteworthy that the International Human Fraternity Virtual Summit is organised by the UAE Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, on the sidelines of the Human Fraternity Festival activities, with massive international and Arab participation.

The event aims at exploring commonalities between countries and building on them for the future of humanity. It also seeks to discuss cooperation for sustainable plans where everybody plays a part.

An elite of international personalities are participating in the forum to discuss global issues related to human values and rights, in general, and the values of human fraternity, coexistence and tolerance, in particular.
