80 jailed for Covid-19 violations in Bahrain

Jail terms ranging between three to six months and fines between BD1,000 and BD2,000 were handed down to eighty people for violating Coronavirus precautionary measures.
A minor criminal court took the actions, the Head of Public Prosecution for Ministries and Public Entities said.
The verdicts followed the Public Prosecution receiving around 40 intimations from various departments at the Ministry of Interior and Public health Department at the Ministry of Health on people arrested.
Charges include failing to wear protective masks in public places and being in a gathering of more than five people.
Authorities also detected violations in hairdressing and beauty salons, restaurants, cafe and establishment having swimming pools.
