30 people maximum number allowed at family gatherings

Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh has issued a decision regarding the health requirements that must be applied when holding celebrations and family gatherings in private homes and places to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The decision stipulated that the number of invitees in the event of holding celebrations and family gatherings in private homes and places, whether open or closed, should not exceed 30 people, apart from family members and those residing with them, including domestic servants and the like.

According to the decision, in the event that a celebration or family gathering is held, health requirements must be adhered to, which include that the number of people sitting at one table or one trip should not exceed six people, leaving a distance of two metres between each person and the other, and buffets may not be held in any case, and masks must be worn throughout the time except when sitting at the dining table.

The decision stressed the obligation to periodically disinfect surfaces.
