State-of-the-art RBNS Al Zubara and other BDF naval battleships inaugurated

Bahrain’s most modern warship RBNS Al Zubara and a number of patrol vessels in the Royal Bahraini Navy of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) were inaugurated yesterday.
It was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander.
Aside from RBNS Al Zubara, the other state-of-the-art battleships are Al Areen, Mashhoor, Al Daibal, Askar, Jaw, Al Hidd and Taghleeb.
The new vessels will increase the navy’s ability to carry out its sacred national duties of protecting the nation’s gains, coasts, as well as territorial and economic waters. The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Royal Bahraini Navy, was attended by BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, coinciding with the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of BDF.
Present in the launch ceremony were a number of Royal Family members, senior officials and ministers. Upon the arrival of the BDF Commander-in-Chief, he was welcomed by Minister of Defense Affairs, Lt. Gen. Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Diab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, and Ministry of Defence Undersecretary, Major General Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and a number of senior defence force officers.
During the inauguration, the BDF Commander-in-Chief raised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s flag onboard Al Zubara and on the other ships. He was briefed about Al Zubara and its capabilities during his tour of the various sections of the ship. He also inspected the other warships’ modern facilities.
Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed affirmed that the remarkable progress witnessed by the Royal Bahrain Naval Force is the fruitful outcome of the sound directives from His Majesty King Hamad and the constant attention of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister.
