Royal Bahrain Naval Force has become regional power: BDF Commander-in-Chief

Bahrain’s patrol warship RBNS Al Zubara, one of the most modern and developed offshore patrol vessel (OPV) built by British BAE Systems, possesses special features and capabilities that use modern technology in the management, operation and control of its systems, including the navigation and communication system, the engine and generator operating and control system, the fire control system, damage control and a combat system.
The design and engineering of the vessel provide it with strength and durability to operate in the worst weather conditions and during long journeys as it is supported by a helipad capable of receiving various helicopters of various weights.
The Kingdom officially received Al Zubara from the British BAE Systems Company in August last year.
The handover ceremony was held at the HMNB Portsmouth Naval Base in the UK. Aside from Al Zubara, the other modern vessels inaugurated yesterday are Al Areen, Mashhoor, Al Daibal, Askar, Jaw, Al Hidd and Taghleeb.
Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said that the Royal Bahraini Navy today has become a naval force.
It is equipped with various weapons, equipment and advanced systems, and thanks to its capabilities and qualified national human energies, it has become able to defend the country, particularly its territorial waters. “As we celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of the Bahrain Defence Force, and under the glorious era of His Majesty the King, the Grand Commander, the flags of pride were raised and fluttered with glory,” said the BDF Commander-in-Chief.
“The Bahrain Defence Force has become a great symbol of sincere dedication and sincere giving, and a proud school of true national achievement. It has grown in terms of combat and administrative readiness, and has risen towards the forefront in the field of preparation and training.”
He praised the role of the BDF men who are instrumental in defending the country, maintaining regional security and stability, and preserving international peace.
Likewise, he also lauded them for their efforts to help fight the coronavirus efficiently and competently, through the military medical systems.
