Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) president Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received in her office yesterday Muharraq Municipality Director General Eng. Ibrahim Yousef Al Jowder.
The meeting dealt with a number of common issues, including the completion of the project of restoration and development of the Qaysariyah Market and the proposal to add car parks near it.
Shaikha Mai reviewed the most prominent programmes and activities provided by the authority this year under the title Pearling Path 2021.
She emphasised the authority’s interest in sustainable development projects in Muharraq, especially with its choice as an innovative city in the field of design and architecture by UNESCO. Eng. Al Jowder thanked the role and efforts of BACA, noting that there are a number of joint projects between the two parties, including what has been accomplished and what is in progress, in addition to future projects that the municipality wishes to work on, including an artistic memorial symbolising Bahrain’s culture near the Bahrain International Airport.
