Bahrain backs Palestinian cause
Bahrain reiterated its unwavering support of the Palestinians’ inalienable rights. Parliament First Deputy Chairman Ali Al Aradi confirmed the stance as he attended the Arab Group meeting on the sidelines of the 133rd session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which opens today and will continue till October 22 in Geneva, Switzerland.
He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, citing the royal keynote speeches that back the Palestinians’ inalienable right to establish an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
The session was also attended by the Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Fakhro, Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Vice Chairman MP Mohammed Al Jowder, Financial and Economic Affairs Committee member MP Adel Hameed, Council of Representatives Secretary-General Abdulla bin Khalaf Al-Dosary and Advisory Authority Chief Dr. Saleh Al-Ghatheth.
Chaired by Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim and Arab Parliamentary Union Secretary-General Noureddine Bouchkouj, the Arab Group discussed continuous Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.
Addressing the session, Fakhro urged a strong Arab stance to help achieve peoples’ demands and reflect the pivotal roles of parliaments.
He pointed out the critical challenges facing the region, urging strong solidarity to protect pan-Arab national security and stave off foreign interference in countries’ internal affairs.
