Female Holy Quran memorizers honoured

The prize distribution ceremony of the 20th edition of Bahrain Grand Competition for the Memorisation, Recitation and Explanation of the Holy Quran was organised by the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry in the Palm Tree Hall at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre yesterday.

Wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, deputised SCW Deputy Chairperson Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa to attend the ceremony.

Dr. Shaikha Mariam lauded the growing number of female Holy Quran memoriser graduates every year, describing it as a source of pride given its benefits for the individual and the community. She also thanked the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry's Holy Quran memorisation centres for their key role in this respect, stressing that HRH Princess Sabeeka's patronage of the function reflects her keenness to support the female memorisers.

Dr. Shaikha Mariam and Director General of HRH Princess Sabeeka's Office Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa presented 65 winners, 12 jury members and 10 members from the organising committees with prizes and certificates.
