National Action Charter unprecedented milestone in Bahrain's modern history: HH Shaikh Nasser

The representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Bahraini people on the National Action Charter (NAC) anniversary, which is observed on February 14.

In a statement marking the occasion, HH said that HM the King has presented a pioneering example through his reform project which is considered an unprecedented transformation in Bahrain’s modern history through the provision of an ideal model in democratic practice, economic and political openness, consolidation of the principles of coexistence and tolerance, a realization of social justice and promotion of freedom in various fields.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa added HM the King inaugurated his reform project by launching the National Action Charter as a great national document and a pioneering historical initiative through which HM envisioned the kingdom’s bright future and shaped the features of the new dawn of Bahrain with a brave contemporary vision and a comprehensive national foundation that took Bahrain into a new phase of construction and modernization.

“HM the King presented an advanced philosophy for reform through his reform project,” HH stressed, pointing out that NAC, which was formulated with extensive popular participation and was approved by an overwhelming majority of 98.4% of the votes, constitutes the basis of the royal reform project. He noted that the charter has contributed to the kingdom’s comprehensive growth, earning Bahrain international respect as an outstanding model in the region.

HH said “the youth and sports movement has made great achievements in the prosperous era of His Majesty the King. The National Action Charter opened all doors for young people to engage in the process of construction and modernization in Bahrain, as they are the real asset and hope for the future.” He praised the accomplishments brought about in the youth and sports sector which contributed to raising the name and flag of Bahrain high.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa reiterated a pledge to go ahead in realizing the vision of the royal reform project and the principles of the National Action Charter which constitute a solid basis to develop Bahrain in various areas.
