HM King's vision achieved national aspirations, accomplishments: Bahrain Parliament

The Council of Representatives has extended deepest congratulations, thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the 20th anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC).

In a statement, the Bahrain Parliament stressed that the NAC embodies HM the King’s sound farsighted vision on enhancing national action, popular participation, political rights and public liberties, and laid solid constitutional, legal and institutional foundations for the nation of tolerance, coexistence, security and stability.

The Bahrain Parliament also extended profound congratulations, appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the dear national occasion, noting that NAC endorsement was a national milestone that led the kingdom towards a more prosperous future, with the patriotic creative spirit and the dedicated teamwork of Team Bahrain to overcome challenges and achieve the principles and goals of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

The Council also appreciated the kingdom’s advancement and empowerment of Bahraini women across various development fields, thanks to the unwavering support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).

In its statement, the Bahrain Parliament also lauded the honourable achievements of the Bahraini youth at various regional and international sports gatherings, thanks to the leadership of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The Council of Representatives recalled with pride the issuance of the National Action Charter in 2001, and its overwhelming endorsement by a sweeping majority, extending congratulations to the loyal Bahraini people for their adherence to the national fundamentals and unity, through their active participation in building the nation and preserving its hard-won achievements.

The Council of Representatives stressed that as it is the representative of the will of the people and one of the main fruits of the National Action Charter, it reiterates its allegiance and loyalty to HM the King, as well as stresses its commitment to enhancing the values of citizenship, national belonging, justice, equality, respect for pluralism and human rights.

It also affirmed its continuous cooperation, complementarity and coordination with the government, the Shura Council and all authorities, entities and civil society to serve the nation and the citizens, as well as support the royal aspirations for the kingdom and its future.

The Council asserted that the Nation Action Charter and the wide-ranging reforms and achievements resulting from it have contributed to creating a unique Bahraini success story, adding that NAC’s 20th anniversary is a good opportunity to continue national action and optimise national achievements, following the constitutional and legal bases, and a modern vision that keeps pace with the developments in public life.

The Council of Representatives stressed the need to continue adhering to the principles embedded in the National Action Charter regarding the preservation of the authentic national identity, the cohesion of the GCC system, supporting joint Arab and Islamic action, promoting human principles and concepts, according to wise Bahraini diplomacy, and bolstering Bahrain’s relations with brotherly and friendly countries.
