Faber-Castell Spectra 2015

The art carnival, Faber Castell 'Spectra 2015', will take place on November 6 at the Indian School, Bahrain. A total of 1200 children from various schools in Bahrain are expected to participate in the competition after being selected in the preliminary rounds organized in their respective schools. 

Under the patronage of the Embassy of India in Bahrain, the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) is organizing an art carnival titled ‘Spectra 2015’ aimed at encouraging and honoring artistic skills among the youth. The organizers claim that it is the largest art competition for students in Bahrain.

This annual event aims at unearthing artistic talent among the youth and creating a future generation who would be catalysts for social change by participating in an event for a noble cause.

Participants will be divided into four age groups 5-8 years, 8-11 years, 11-14 years and 14-18 years. The event is set to begin by 8am and complete by 5pm.  The results will be announced and the winners will be honoured during The Grand Finale function on December 11 at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall, Segaiya, at 5pm.

The organizers said that this year, they are expecting the participation of schools such as the Indian School, the Asian School, the New Indian School, Sacred Heart School, New Millennium School, New Horizon School, Al Noor International School, Ibn  Al  Haytham  School, British  School of  Bahrain,  St. Christopher’s School, Quality  Education School, Abdurrahman Kanoo International School, Ebenezer School Philippine School and Al  Naseem International School.

The winning entries and other outstanding creations by the children will be featured in the wall calendars and desktop calendars designed for the year 2016. These Calendars will be launched at the Finale.

Pledges of support for this event have been received from several organizations and business establishments. Net proceeds from the competition will go towards providing relief to families of Indian labourers deceased in Bahrain and drawing wages below BD 100 per month

For the smooth conduct of the event, an organizing committee has been formed headed by U.K. Menon as the General Convener, Rosaline Roy Charlie as General Coordinator & Coordinator Schools.
