Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and following the directives of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Endurance Cup Festival will kick-off tomorrow, and run until February 20, at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.

HM the King’s endurance festival features a series of races, including the main 160-km race and a 120-km race for juniors, in addition to 120-km and 100-km races for the public. It also includes local qualifying 40-km and 80-km races, as well as a 20-km race for children.

Today, a local 40-km race was held, with the participation of many riders and stables.

Breef, led by HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, has finalised all its preparations for the event and taken all the precautionary measures recommended by authorities at the Bahrain International Endurance Village to ensure the safety of the participants.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla expressed pride in HM the King’s patronage of the endurance races, noting that the festival is one of the major races in the kingdom.

He expressed Breef’s deep pride in organising the precious endurance cup, carrying HM the King’s name.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla paid tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad for unlimited support for sports in the kingdom, particularly endurance.

Breef President stressed that HM the King’s support for the endurance sport has contributed to placing the kingdom on the world’s map thanks to the multiple international achievements attained over the past period, noting that all stables and jockeys look forward to HM the King’s Endurance Festival.

He pointed out that HM the King’s Endurance Festival is among the major sporting events in the endurance season in the kingdom, and witnesses fierce competition among riders, as it is patronised by HM the King.

He added that the importance of the festival also stems from the participation of local and foreign stables, in addition to holding races for junior and youth riders, as well as for the public.

He indicated that the endurance sport in Bahrain has made quantum leaps thanks to HH Shaikh Nasser’s insightful vision and follow-up, which contributed to attaining outstanding results at external participations.
