Procedures taken to achieve food security in Bahrain highlighted

The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has taken many initiatives and procedures to achieve sustainable national food security in the Kingdom.
Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf said that several properties have been identified within the various governorates in the Kingdom to be registered for the benefit of agriculture and marine resources for the food security project in Horat Aali, Diraz, Sanad, Al Ghina and Al Sayah.
He noted that a settlement for investing in the field of fish farming in Ras Hayyan has been 70% completed.
The Minister emphasised that the Agriculture and Marine Resources is harnessing all capabilities to support Bahraini farmers to be more involved in supplying the local market with various agricultural products.
It is supporting agricultural production inputs by deducting 60% of the original value of those inputs.
