The Kingdom of Bahrain shares with Kuwait its celebrations of its 60th National Day and the 30th anniversary of its Liberation Day, in line with its pride in the depth of their steadily growing fraternal relations, based on their geographical proximity, and their bonds of blood and kinship.
The brotherly Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations have always been strong thanks to the keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to develop the two brotherly countries’ strategic partnership at the political, economic, social, cultural and media levels.
Bahrain and Kuwait have also set the example in their fraternal relations, unified visions and stances within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as in their keenness to strengthen joint Arab action and serve Arab and Islamic issues.
Bahrain praises the wise policy adopted by Kuwait, led by the Amir, His Highness Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, and Crown Prince, HH Shaikh Mishaal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, within the framework of their commitment to enhancing the development achievements, and adherence to the principles of wise diplomacy in promoting peace and settling regional and international conflicts peacefully, in addition to their confirmation of Kuwait’s humanitarian role at all levels, following in the footsteps of the late Amir HH Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Humanitarian Work Leader.
The Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations have been growing steadily at all levels, particularly since the establishment of the High Joint Cooperation Committee between their two governments in 2001.
It resulted in the signing of numerous agreements on cooperation in the diplomatic, consular, tourism, air transport, cultural, educational and media fields, in addition to many memoranda of understanding and executive programmes.
Economic relations between the two brotherly countries have also flourished, in light of the increase of the volume of bilateral trade to reach $318 million in 2020, and the growth of Kuwait’s direct investments in Bahrain to $2.25 billion.
