Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan yesterday opened the Bahrain Training and Education PreWork Fair through visual communication technology.
The two-day event, which will end today, was organised by Med Point with the participation of Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the organising company, Shaikha Noura bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, and a number of employers and heads of the training and educational institutions.
The fair aims to introduce students who are expected to graduate from the secondary and university levels to the available educational, training and employment opportunities, the nature of the labour market requirements, and the scientific and functional skills that each profession requires in various sectors.
It also includes holding meetings, workshops and lectures for school and university students and young people looking for work, with the participation of representatives from the Labour Ministry, Education Ministry, Higher Education Council and many private institutions and employers.
Humaidan delivered a speech in which he praised the organisation of the event that provides an opportunity for private training institutes and centres to contribute to supporting the government’s efforts in developing human resources and preparing them professionally for the labour market.
The event also enabled the harmonisation of education and training outcomes with the requirements of the labour market, which is an integrative process and national responsibility by governmental, private and private agencies.
