The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has authorized the emergency use of Johnson and Johnson’s vaccine for coronavirus (COVID-19).
Janssen Covid-19 Vaccine is the fifth vaccine authorized in Bahrain to be administered for emergency use to people most at risk to develop severe symptoms of Covid-19 if infected, like the elderly, people with chronic diseases and other groups identified by the Health Ministry.
NHRA Chief Executive Dr Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma, said an in-depth study has been conducted on all documents provided by the producing company on the clinical trials of the vaccine, in light of the studies conducted in many countries.
The in-depth analyses were conducted with the participation of the NHRA Clinical trials Committee and the Immunization Committee at the Ministry of Health.
The vaccine is given in one shot and provides great protection against serious infection with COVID-19.
