Fire breaks out in Askar workshop, injures many

Several people were injured in a fire that broke out at a building in the Askar region yesterday. The blaze was reported earlier yesterday from one of the workshops there.
Massive smoke plumes were seen billowing out of the workshop as people were rushing away in panic.
National ambulance service personnel who reached the scene transferred the injured to a hospital immediately.
It is not clear how many people were injured or the nature of the burns. Fire tenders rushed in to bring the blaze under control from adjoining areas. Civil Defence officials attributed the blaze to “negligence”. They said, “Failure to comply with the fire and safety regulations resulted in the mishap.”
Details are not available regarding the extent of the damage. Interior Ministry confirmed the incident on its Twitter account. “National Ambulance took the required steps at the site & transfer them to the hospital,” the ministry tweeted.
