Hana Khais, a student of the Indian School Bahrain (ISB), has become Internet famous after publishing a teen fiction on Wattpad, a website for writers to publish new user-generated stories, according to the information from her parents. Hana’s novel “Hailey” posted on Wattpad, has racked up more than 142,000 reads and 5,400 votes as of today. It’s a teen fiction having 36 chapters which Hana started posting on October 16, 2020, amidst COVID-19 lockdown in Bahrain. The fiction is centred on Hailey Andrews, a 14-year old teenage girl who had no friends and who kept to herself, harboured a huge secret and refrained from telling anyone. “This is my first book. The novel is a pure figment of my imagination,” says Hana. “Instead of battling boredom while isolated indoors during the lockdown, I used my time to boost my creativity.” Hana, who also keeps a brilliant academic record, would like to publish her book in the immediate future. ‘Hailey’ has the following highest rankings on Wattpad: #1 in Broken, #4 in Teen Fiction, #6 in Truth, #1 in Sister,#2 in Life-changing,#15 in Happy,#12 in Secrets. A student of class IX at the ISB, Hana is hit with a slew of praise from social media users including one reader, saying “I hope you grow to be a great author”, and another calling it “an amazing stuff.”
