HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives Council of Representatives Speaker, Shura Council Chairman

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, HE Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, and the Chairman of the Shura Council, HE Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, at Riffa Palace.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness affirmed that greater collaboration between the Executive and Legislative branches ensures the success of ongoing development initiatives and ensures the state budget for the fiscal years 2021-2022 supports such development goals, particularly during COVID-19.

In this regard, His Royal Highness noted that the global COVID-19 pandemic challenged Team Bahrain to demonstrate its ability to triumph in adversity and shape its own success story.

Acknowledging that the challenges ahead require further determination and commitment, His Royal Highness underlined the importance of progressing policies that support private sector development and innovation, in parallel with ongoing work to bridge the fiscal gap.

For their part, the Council of Representatives Speaker and the Shura Council Chairman expressed their gratitude to His Royal Highness for supporting enhanced cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches.

The Deputy Prime Minister, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister for Shura Council and Parliament Affairs, HE Ghanim bin Fadhl Al-Buainin, were in attendance.
