Maintain electrical appliances to prevent fire accidents
Citing a recent incident when a fire broke out in a house after light bulb fell on a sofa, the authorities have now urged the public to regularly maintain electrical appliances to reduce chances of such accidents.
A house in Jidhafs was earlier engulfed in flames after a light bulb fell on a sofa, according to the Interior Ministry. Civil defense immediately rushed to the scene and put out the fire.
"The fire was in the first floor and the firefighting took 10 minutes to completely put it out. When the house was examined, it turned out that the fire was caused when a light bulb fell on the sofa," a senior Civil Defence official had told Interior Ministry's Al Amn channel.
