100 seedlings delivered ‘at your doorstep’

On the occasion of Tree Week celebrations, the Southern Region Municipality, in cooperation with the Municipal Council, distributed 100 seedlings to a number of homes.
Through the municipality “at your doorstep” initiative, it aims to achieve community partnership with citizens by encouraging and urging them on the importance of agriculture and caring for home gardens, in order to raise the level of environmental awareness and increase the green area in all regions.
Citizens expressed their interaction with this initiative and thanked the municipality for its efforts in delivering all services to homes and completing transactions with ease, especially in light of the coronavirus problem to ensure the safety of citizens.
The municipality of the southern region pays great attention to agriculture and intensification of the green area according to its strategic plan aimed at upgrading the agricultural level in all areas, residential neighbourhoods, main streets, roads, street triangles, public parks and walkways.
