Bahrain's cooperation with US and UK lauded
Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received former Commander of the U.S. Central Command Gen. James Mattis, former Director of British Special Forces Gen. Sir Graeme Lamb, and Advisor to Duke of Westminster Andre Pienaar at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
HRH the Prime Minister affirmed the strength of Bahrain's long-standing relations with the United Kingdom and the United States, and praised the steady growth of cooperation between them.
He praised the key role played by the US and UK officials in enhancing military and defence cooperation between the Kingdom and both the US and Britain.
HRH Premier reviewed with the audience the latest regional and global development, and stressed the importance of preventive and precautionary measures to spare the region further conflicts and tension. He noted that the current security situation in the region requires a broader international cooperation to ensure the security and stability of its countries.
Gen. James Mattis, Gen. Sir Graeme Lamb, and Andre Pienaar expressed admiration of the progress boom currently witnessed by the Kingdom, which, they said, reflect the farsightedness of the government, under HRH Prince Khalifa's leadership.
