The coordinator of the joint programmes of the University of Bahrain and INJAZ Bahrain Foundation, Dr Israa Ahmed Wali, said: “Three hundred students in the two courses, the Small Business Administration and Human Resources Management, within the Bachelor of Entrepreneurship major took the challenge as part of the study requirements.
“The students worked in groups to put forward innovative ideas to revitalise the sectors most affected by the pandemic, such as cafes, restaurants, cinemas, travel and tourism offices, and others.”
The students, supervised by 10 professors of the College of Business Administration, presented various ideas, which focused on developing marketing plans to attract customers, by making use of the capabilities of social networks, through a virtual meeting using visual communication technology.
The groups’ ideas were presented after about four hours and discussed by specialised arbitrators.
The students formulated several solutions to reopen cinemas appropriately in light of the increasing cases of infection.
They also suggested encouraging the vaccination campaign carried out by the Health Ministry by restricting entry to holders of a vaccination certificate, which can be easily shown through the “conscious society” application.
